Expertise: Intelligent Agents, Artificial Intelligence, Human-RL Interaction

Biography

Ph.D., Washington University in St. Louis (2018)

Christabel Wayllace received her Ph.D. at Washington University in St. Louis. She obtained an M.S. in Computer Science from New Mexico State University and a B.S. in Electronics Engineering from Universidad Mayor de San Andres. More recently, Christabel was a postdoctoral fellow in the Intelligent Robot Learning Laboratory at the University of Alberta.

Christabel studies the influence of human-agent-environment interaction to understand how this interaction can benefit both humans and artificial intelligent (AI) agents. Her current focus is to explore different ways of developing agents capable of teaching people behavioral and cognitive skills (e.g., decision-making and problem-solving). Christabel investigates intelligent tutoring systems, goal recognition, and reinforcement learning to achieve this goal.
