Patty Lopez spent 19 years as an Imaging Scientist for Hewlett Packard (HP), creating and transferring technology in imaging and color algorithms into scanner, camera, and all-in-one products. She has released over fifty imaging products for HP and holds seven imaging patents, and served on the organizing committee for the HP Imaging and Color Symposium for several years. Patty joined Intel in 2008 and now works on microprocessor logic validation for manufacturability. She currently serves on the advisory board of the computer science department. She received the NMSU Distinguished Alumni Award in 2003.

Larry Blount

Larry Blount joined IBM in 1981 and is now a member of the Senior Technical Staff at the IBM Tuscon fascility. He is in charge of the development laboratory focused on large-scale storage controllers. He has many patents and travels all over the world as a troubleshooter for IBM’s large-scale storage systems. He currently serves on the advisory board of the computer science department. He received the NMSU Distinguished Alumni Award in 2007.

Ann Gates is a professor and department head of the Computer Science Department at University of Texas, El Paso. Her research interests include software fault monitoring, software property monitoring and elicitation, and workflow-driven ontologies. She directs the NSF-funded Cyber-ShARE Center that focuses on developing and sharing resources through cyber-infrastructure to advance research and education in science, and leads the Computing Alliance of Hispanic Serving Institutions (CAHSI), an NSF-funded consortium that is focused on the recruitment, retention, and advancement of Hispanics in computing. She currently also serves on the advisory board of the computer science department. She received the NMSU Distinguished Alumni Award in 2009..

Ted Slater

Ted Slater is the CTO of OpenBEL Consortium at Selventa, Inc., and Executive Director at Broad Reach Strategic Advising LLC, based in the Boston area. He is an expert in the application of knowledge- and semantics-based methods to pharmaceutical R&D. In addition to the MS in Computer Science at NMSU, he also holds an MA in Molecular Biology from the University of California at Riverside. He currently serves on the advisory board of the computer science department.

Rob Sinclair

Rob Sinclair is responsible for Microsoft’s worldwide strategy to develop software and services that make it easier for people of all ages and abilities to see, hear, and use their computers. His MS degree in computer science from NMSU included a focus on usability and user-centered design. He is the lead inventor or contributor to a dozen patents awarded in the areas of accessibility and digital photography. He is also an international award-winning nature and wildlife photographer who supports the protection of wildlife and the preservation of wild places. He received the NMSU Distinguished Alumni Award in 2010.
